Making
allowance for the terms peculiar to either teaching, the passage, "Seek ye
first the kingdom of God and his righteousness; and all these things shall
be added unto you," conveys a thought that may be found on almost any page
of Wan Yang Ming. A Japanese disciple of his says--"The lord ofheaven
and earth, of all living beings, dwelling in the heart of man, becomes his
mind (Kokoro); hence a mind is a living thing, and is ever luminous"

Kokoro is a martial arts
training system integrating classical biomechanics into judo,
ju_jitsu and mixed martial arts disciplines.. Classical choreographic
training used to provide a foundation for sports such as skating and gymnastics,
is integrated into optimization of skill development, finesse
and flexibility, economy of energy, balance, and grace.
The Seven Virtues
of the Bushido form the physical and mental content of training.
These virtues are Jin: Benevolence toward
mankind; Universal love; compassion, Makoto: Utter sincerity;
truthfulness, Chugi: Devotion and
Loyalty, Meiyo:
Honor and glory, Yu: Valor; bravery,
tinged with heroism Rei: Proper behaviour;
courtesy Gi: The right decision,
taken with equanimity; rectitude.
These virtues are applied in physical training and
application into every day lives, in pursuit of an intellectual and
social elite
objective. These virtues embraced as the student reaches towards
the distinguished rank of Black Belt and beyond.
Stephen M. Apatow is founder of the Sports Medicine &
Science Institute (SMSI), an international reference point for
biomechanics and sportscience.
